Developed by the Pennsylvania State University and recommended by extension research personnel and others interested in testing quality in hay & other forages. Since its introduction, the sampler has been extensively used in the U.S. and Canada by universities, feed companies, and individual farmers. This tool offers the easiest and most modern method of sampling loose, baled, or chopped hay and grass silage.
Available with 3⁄8" round shank adapter for use with electric drill or breast drill (electric drill of 1⁄2 hp capacity is recommended). Dowel plunger is supplied with each unit to remove moist or packed samples. Shank adapters are quickly and easily removed from tube by depressing a spring-loaded plunger. Fitted with replaceable hardened cutterhead and adapter. (See NOTE below, as the tip is not warranted.) Made of stainless steel tube 1 1⁄8" dia. x 18" L. |
